  BIOPHILIA

What is a self-portrait? To what extent is there an intention in portraying oneself in one way or another? Is the face a sine qua non of a portrait? By choosing the hands as the representative part of the portrait, I refer the viewer to the actions that make us human, and by inference, to the intentions behind these: the hands as the portal to the mind. The acts depicted in the images characterize essential actions of my being and of being an individual. The hands tell us not only who we are but also what we consciously became through our repeated intentions and interests in specific actions.
